The Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil regrets to inform its members that Felda Global Ventures Holdings Berhad (FGV) and Lembaga Felda (The FELDA Group), have requested for an immediate withdrawal of Roundtable Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) Principles and Criteria (P&C) certificates of its 58 mills located throughout Malaysia. The withdrawal of FGV’s certificates is effective as of 3rd May 2016.
The intention of the withdrawal was communicated by FGV to the the RSPO on 29th April 2016. Following the official notice, the RSPO has advised the same to the six Certification Bodies that have issued the P&C certification for FGV, and to the Book and Claim trading platform, managed by GreenPalm.
Following the certificates withdrawal, existing Certified Sustainable Palm Oil (CSPO) in stock with FGV will be deemed uncertified. However, all Book & Claim certificates purchased before 3rd May 2016 will remain valid.
FGV Group’s RSPO Supply Chain Certification System (SCCS) of its kernel crushing plants and downstream refineries are not affected and continue to remain valid.
The RSPO remains confident in FGV’s commitment as a member of our organisation. We look forward to the successful implementation of FGV’s announced plan to recertify all its plantations and mills.
